Accedian Launches SkyLight DataHub IQ Service Analytics

Accedian, the end-to-end network and application performance solution vendor, on Monday introduced SkyLight DataHub IQ, for service analytics, and the latest addition to its Skylight portfolio.
Designed as a cloud-native application, SkyLight DataHub IQ aggregates data from the SkyLight portfolio – as well as third-party data – to provide the network and IT operations team a unified view of network performance. And, because it’s built with a machine learning (ML) artificial intelligence (AI) stack, Skylight DataHub IQ provides insights into the data such as performance issues, anomalies, customer experience and the ability to prioritize the issues for immediate resolution.
“It’s suitable for people to quickly and easily understand performance and isolated issues,” Tom Foottit, senior product manager, network analytics, Accedian, told Channel Partners. He also pointed out that it’s available via the company’s REST APIs for machine integration — for orchestration and automation purposes.

DataHub IQ combines and correlates highly granular active and passive monitoring metrics while ML capabilities are used to detect anomalies from baseline performance, to network behavior and issues, and to predict network issues before they occur. Real-time, contextual insight can be used to automate the performance of virtual and hybrid networks, particularly for closed loop automation and self-healing networks.
“The move towards cloud networks and architectures puts immense strain on those tasked with managing their performance,” said Patrick Ostiguy, founder, president and CEO of Accedian. “SkyLight DataHub IQ will dramatically alter the economics of network and service management going forward.”
The company’s target market for the new product is its enterprise customers, managed service providers (MSPs) and carrier service providers.
In pursuit of expanding its presence in the enterprise market, Accedian introduced its global SkyLight 4X Partner Program, in June — the vendor’s first partner program. The company wants to attract MSPs, cloud service providers, system integrators and solution providers interested in selling its network and application performance portfolio.
SkyLight DataHub IQ can be deployed as a service in a public or private cloud.
Foottit pointed to two use cases for MSPs. One is to provide end-to-end visibility for troubleshooting purposes and to be able to understand if a customer is having an issue with a specific service or location.
“The MSP can do continuous active monitoring or on-demand troubleshooting because the tool provides all that data in a single pane of glass,” said Foottit. “It also provides insight into where the problem is occurring, so from a troubleshooting angle, there’s a faster time to resolution for issues, ensuring customer satisfaction with the service.”
A second use case is from a service level agreement (SLA) perspective.
“The MSP is able to demonstrate to a customer that SLAs are being met and they’re getting the level of service intended,” he added.
