Enterprise file sync and share (EFSS) services provider Egnyte today announced it will add Content Intelligence, Auditing for IT and Smart Reporting capabilities to its Adaptive Enterprise File Services suite.

These new Adaptive Enterprise Files Services are designed to give managed service providers (MSPs) usage pattern insights to help them better meet customers’ needs “to securely, easily and intelligently share files on premises and in the cloud,” Egnyte said.

“Egnyte’s Adaptive Enterprise File Services, with the addition of Content Intelligence, are going to be an absolute blessing for the channel because of their openness,” an Egnyte spokesperson told MSPmentor. “Egnyte’s open architecture is going to allow resellers to package Egnyte with any cloud and/or any storage infrastructure they have in their portfolio. This can open the door for new business and it can also help build an annuity on top of storage they may already have sold as well, giving them more opportunities in their pipeline.”

Egnyte said its Adaptive Enterprise File Services suite will include:

End user services:

  • Mobility – Enables users to access files they need online or offline from a mobile device

  • Unified User Experience Ensures internal and external users can collaborate without needing a special client or requiring changes to their productivity environment and processes

  • Content Intelligence (New) Leverages big data analytics to help users understand exactly how their files are being accessed and shared inside and outside of an organization

IT department services:

  • Security Provides end-to-end security with the ability for IT to define user, content, device, networking and storage controls based on compliance and policy requirements

  • Unified Administration & Management Gives IT better visibility and centralized management over all enterprise files through a “single pane of glass”

  • Smart Reporting & Auditing (Enhanced) Helps IT professionals understand how information flows throughout their organization

Vineet Jain, Egnyte’s CEO, said he believes that the new Adaptive Enterprise File Services represent “a major step forward” for his company.

He also noted that Egnyte “is focused on delivering solutions that do not require trade-offs between the needs of end users and IT departments.”

Egnyte announced a partnership with Richard Fleischman and Associates (RFA), an MSP that focuses on the financial services sector, last March, and Egnyte is in talks with several other service providers as well.

“We are very excited to be expanding our reach with new MSPs over the next year to reach as much of the total addressable market as we can,” an Egnyte spokesperson said.

Gartner named Egnyte a “Niche Player” in its Magic Quadrant for Enterprise File Synchronization and Sharing last year (Citrix (CTXS), Box, EMC (EMC) and Accellion were named “Leaders” in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant), but Egnyte’s hybrid technology could help it extend its market reach soon.

“Because Egnyte is the only player in the enterprise space with open, hybrid technology, we are the only ones able to take our product further and offer these adaptive services with content intelligence,” an Egnyte spokesperson added.
