BioPharm CEO Alex Sefanov started out as an IT consultant and worked his way up to CEO of BioPharm, a managed services provider that specializes in Oracle’s clinical trial, data, drug safety, and pharmacovigilance management systems. SEFANOV: Nijinsky by the Hamburg Ballet. It was an amazing performance of a tragic story about a Russian ballet legend.
TALKIN CLOUD’s SPIN: Not familiar with the Hamburg Ballet, but I’ve heard that they are an internationally acclaimed ballet company — or at least that’s what I read on Wikipedia.
SEFANOV: Quartet. This was a nice and warm story of retired musicians in the U.K.

SEFANOV: In my early days, I was an IT consultant in various industries and then became associated with life sciences in 1995 when I started working closely with Oracle and their clinical data management application, Oracle Clinical. That is when I saw a great future for this industry and started BioPharm.
TALKIN CLOUD’s SPIN: According to Glassdoor, the average annual salary of an IT consultant in the U.S. is $65,000.
SEFANOV: Downton Abbey. You simply cannot beat the superb acting, historical accuracy, and attention to detail.

SEFANOV: We are in the process of starting a practice devoted to Oracle’s healthcare applications. As you know, there is a lot of work to be done in the healthcare field. We are very excited for what is to come.

SEFANOV: I bought an IdeaTab from Lenovo. A requirement of mine was for the tablet to have various ports, including a HDMI one.
TALKIN CLOUD’s SPIN: At least it’s not another iPad.
SEFANOV: OpenTable for the iPhone.
TALKIN CLOUD’s SPIN: All dinner reservations are made from my iPhone. If a restaurant isn’t on OpenTable, it’s not even considered.
SEFANOV: OpenAir from NetSuite. We use it for time and expense tracking, billing, etc.
TALKIN CLOUD’s SPIN: NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson took some shots at Microsoft and SAP back in February. NetSuite’s revenue rose 33 percent to $85 million in Q4 2012.
