Datto, a backup and disaster recovery (BDR) company that works closely with MSPs, has completed an initial integration with ConnectWise. By integrating Datto devices into ConnectWise, partners can monitor device alerts directly through ConnectWise rather than simply through email, according to Shannon Kohn (pictured), marketing and channel relations director at Datto. Here are more details.“Partners have been banging down our door for this integration, so we are really happy we can finally provide it,” said Kohn in an email to MSPmentor.
According to Datto:
“The Datto/ConnectWise integration enables partners to monitor their Datto devices directly through ConnectWise. The integration passes Datto device alerts through ConnectWise as tickets. Partners are able to customize which alerts are sent and where they go in ConnectWise. They are able to specify the service board it gets posted to and how the ticket is classified (service type, service sub-type, and default ticket status) when it’s passed to ConnectWise.”

Lots of Connections
An official announcement from ConnectWise and Datto expected soon. Also in the PSA (professional services automation) market, Datto already integrates with Autotask and is looking to plug into Tigerpaw Software next. In the RMM (remote monitoring and management) software market, Datto integrates with Level Platforms, with additional integrations later this year, Kohn predicted.
Within the MSP market, most major software and cloud companies integrate their wares with PSA and RMM software. But integration levels can vary from company to company, so be sure to request an integration demo before signing on the dotted line for a particular platform.
