Each week Talkin’ Cloud compiles a list of cloud computing financing stories for readers who might have missed the news earlier in the week. This week’s column features funding news from Mirantis, ServiceMax, Velostrata, AirVM and ZeroStack.

Mirantis Announces Technology and Investment Collaboration with Intel for Enterprise OpenStack Acceleration. OpenStack company Mirantis has received $100 million in a funding round led by Intel Capital (INTL). New investor Goldman Sachs also participated, along with existing investors August Capital, Insight Venture Partners, Ericsson (ERIC), Sapphire Ventures (formerly SAP Ventures) and WestSummit Capital. Mirantis said it will use the funding to support Intel Capital’s “Cloud for All” initiative, which focuses on creating thousands of new clouds.

New Round of Funding: ServiceMax Cements Position as Global Field Service Management Leader. Cloud-based field management solutions provider ServiceMax has secured $82 million in Series F funding. Premji Invest led the funding round, which also included participation from GE Ventures, PTC and Cloud Apps Capital and existing investors Emergence Capital Partners, KPCB, Mayfield, Meritech, Adams Street Partners, Crosslink Capital, QuestMark Partners, Sozo Ventures and Trinity Ventures. ServiceMax said the Series F funds will be used to expand its global operations.

Velostrata Announces $14 Million in Series A Funding. Hybrid cloud software provider Velostrata has raised $14 million in Series A funding led by Norwest Venture Partners and Greylock IL Partners (83North). Velostrata said it will use the funding to bolster its product roadmap and marketing, sales and support teams.

AirVM Raises $8.0 million in Series A Funding. AirVM, a cloud management platform provider, has added $8 million in Series A funding. RHO Canada Ventures led the funding round, joined by Build Ventures and current investor Wesley Clover. AirVM noted that the Series A funding will allow it to “expand into new regions, new cloud services and new platform technologies.”

ZeroStack Emerges from Stealth with Industry’s First All-In-One Scale-Out Private Cloud. ZeroStack has disclosed $5.6 million in Series A funding led by Foundation Capital. The cloud computing company also introduced a private cloud solution that “converges compute, storage, networking and management software with self-healing capabilities.”
