Happy Friday! Check out some of the new product announcements made this week that The VAR Guy thinks will have a positive impact on the channel.
SnapLogic debuted the Spring ’16 release of its SnapLogic Elastic Integration Platform this week, which includes new capabilities for integrating streaming data and powering big data analytics. The platform also supports Apache Kafka, Microsoft HDInsight and Google Cloud Storage, according to the announcement.
Why It’s Good for the Channel: With the incredible amount of data generated every year by businesses, any platform capable of effectively parsing and making sense of said data is bound to be a welcome addition for large enterprise companies. This is especially true for organizations who wish to augment their data analytics capabilities with tools such as Apache Kafka, Microsoft HDInsight and Google Cloud Storage.
Intel has partnered with European web hosting provider 1&1 to develop secure platforms for cloud and data center applications. The companies said the platforms will utilize Intel’s Cloud Integrity Technology so users can have better control and visibility over data hosted in 1&1’s cloud infrastructure.
Why It’s Good for the Channel: Secure clouds equals happy customers, so this one is a no-brainer.
Riverbed announced several upcoming additions to its SteelCentral solution this week, with an emphasis on improving troubleshooting and monitoring capabilities for administrators via Microsoft Azure and AWS. Additional support for Skype for Business, platform as a service and containerized environments round out the latest version.
Why It’s Good for the Channel: Riverbed’s new additions further the company’s goal of making SteelCentral the “command center” for cloud platform monitoring, thus giving admins a centralized location from which to run their off-premise utilities.
Attack detection and analysis software provider Seculert has created the first outbound attack simulator to help organizations protect themselves against hackers and malware. The solution, called Javelin, is expected to help security professionals test the strength of their secure web gateways, firewalls and proxies by simulating a faux attack.
Why It’s Good for the Channel: Seculert said it hopes to help security professionals expose holes in their perimeter before attackers can exploit them. Efforts such as these should go a long way in preventing attacks and data theft, which would typically result in revenue loss and downtime.
Dell’s Cloud Client Computing division has added two new security solutions to its portfolio in an effort to help customers lock down all aspects of their data center. The solutions, called Dell Data Protection Threat Defense for Windows and Dell Data Protection Endpoint Security Suite Enterprise are being aimed squarely at companies who want an additional layer of security on top of their existing services. Both solutions will be available for sale through the channel in July.
Why It’s Good for the Channel: Dell is banking on the old adage that “you can never have too much security” with the release of its new solutions, and happen to agree – especially when it comes to providing channel partners with more ways to add value to their customer offerings.
