Software migration and management solution provider Metalogix debuted its Essentials for Drives: File Shares to OneDrive Freemium offering this week, which allows customers to migrate up to 500 drives or 1TB of content to Microsoft OneDrive for Business at no cost.
Why It’s Good for the Channel: Metalogix said the solution was designed to make it easier for OneDrive customers to move their data to the cloud, so this free add-on should help alleviate stress for users and encourage new customers to give OneDrive a try – plus, the add-on is free.
Citrix has agreed to add the Webroot BrightCloud IP Reputation Service to its NetScaler ADC platform in an effort to stamp out malicious IP addresses within their IT infrastructure, according to an announcement made on Tuesday.
Why It’s Good for the Channel: We all know how rampant malware is in the current IT landscape, so when two companies combine forces to stamp out potential problems, you know channel partners will ultimately benefit by being able to offer their customers two solutions for the price of one.
Datto showed off its latest effort to make enterprise file sync and share services more affordable for SMBs with the release of Datto Drive, which is priced at $10 per TB per month. Datto will allow unlimited users on the drive for the same monthly fee and is being aimed squarely at customers who would typically struggle to afford enterprise FSS services.

Trend Micro will provide its Worry-Free Services plug-in gratis for the upcoming Kaseya VSA management and remote monitoring platform, the company announced this week. The plug-in, which is available via the Trend Micro Remote Manager solution, is expected to provide Kaseya VSA customers to natively integrate Trend Micro with their existing Kaseya VSA console, according to the announcement.
Why It’s Good for the Channel: Trend Micro is known for their endpoint security solutions, so partners can bank on the company’s strong reputation for security to help them move additional units of the Kaseya VSA console.
On Wednesday, Avnet released a new EMC software-defined storage solution with IsilonSD Edge technology to help partners “deliver a cost-optimized scale-out, network-attached storage (NAS) option for edge applications.” Avnet said it hopes to cut the cost of scale-out storage and improve ROI for customers with the release.

The capabilities are now included in Spanning’s existing SaaS data protection solution for Microsoft Office 365, and are expected to help OneDrive users to cut their chance of accidental data loss, according to the company.
