Which companies have topped this year's cloud funding headlines this year? Here's a closer look at seven of the biggest cloud funding and financing stories of 2015 so far.
In January, My Digital Shield (MDS) added $300,000 in its second seed round of funding, bringing its total financing raised to $800,000. The Wilmington, Delaware-based security-as-a-service (SECaaS) provider said it planned to use the funding to accelerate its channel partner marketing and support and product development.
Treasure Data in January raised $15 million in funding for its pre-built cloud service for collection, storage and analysis of big data sources. The Mountain View, California-based company has secured $23 million in financing to date.
Wandera in February announced it raised $15 million in funding to combat growing mobile data security threats through mobile data optimization and real-time intelligence. This funding round brought Wandera's total financing to $23 million.
In April, Santa Clara, California-based cloud security startup Palerra secured $17 million in Series B financing, bringing its total funding raised to $25 million. Palerra said it planned to use the financing to increase its sales and marketing efforts and bolster its LORIC threat detection and predictive analytics platform.
In January, CloudBees raised $23.5 million, bringing its total funding to nearly $50 million. CloudBees said it planned to use the financing to ensure it can keep up with the rising demand for continuous delivery (CD) solutions that leverage Jenkins CI, a Java-based, open source continuous integration (CI) platform.
AppDirect in February announced it secured $50 million in funding to expand its global market share. The company said it planned to do this by devoting resources to scale its sales, marketing and customer service teams.
Software-defined networking (SDN) startup Pluribus Networks in January announced it raised $50 million in funding for its open application platform. The company's Series D financing round brought its total funding to $95 million.
