Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) said it will sever another 25,000 to 30,000 jobs, mostly from its enterprise services unit, as part of an overall plan to save some $2.7 billion in costs as the vendor careens to its Nov. 1 planned split into two separate entities.

IBM (IBM) has named a vice president and general manager to head its IoT group and a new Education unit. Harriet Green, formerly chief executive and executive director of Thomas Cook Group and Premier Farnell, and a former Arrow Electronics (ARW) executive, will take over the IoT and Education business units.
