Agito Networks Inc. has introduced a new version of its RoamAnywhere Mobility Router. This fixed mobile convergence product was designed to help enterprises increase mobile worker productivity while reducing cellular costs. RoamAnywhere adds proactive metrics, including location- and policy-based metrics, such as handset battery levels and network costs, into its handover decisions.

The new RoamAnywhere release introduces Secure Remote Voice, a capability that addresses the challenges of poor cellular coverage outside the enterprise by delivering a secure voice over WLAN (VoWLAN) connection from Wi-Fi networks in homes, hotels and public hotspots. The RoamAnywhere client uses an application-layer SSL connection to secure VoWLAN from non-enterprise networks.

RoamAnywhere also now offers a “Dual Persona” capability, enabling converged mobility for business and personal communications.

RoamAnywhere has qualified support for more than 30 different types of handsets running the Symbian S60 Series and Windows Mobile 6 Standard and Professional operating systems. Agito’s mobility router offers native line-side support for Cisco, Avaya, Microsoft, Nortel and Asterisk IP PBXs.

RoamAnywhere also now offers Dynamic Least Cost Routing, which uses patent-pending algorithms to determine how best to route cellular calls, enterprise calls and international calls.

Pricing for the RoamAnywhere solution starts at approximately $9,995 for the 2000 Series and $27,495 for the 4000 Series. It is available today directly and through channel partners.
