Alation, the enterprise data catalog provider, on Tuesday rolled out Alation Partner Network, its first official partner program.

The global program includes system integrators (SIs), resellers and technology partners. It aims to drive success for organizations using Alation with other offerings. It also makes enterprise data and analytics investments more effective.

The Alation Partner Network allows SIs and resellers to become Alation-certified and implement Alation for their enterprise customers. It also provides technology partners and resellers with access to Alation software and resources.

Fostering Closer Relationships

Kiran Narsu is Alation‘s vice president of business development. He said the company created APN to establish closer relationships with existing partners “while also expanding the number of partners that work with our data catalog technology.”

“We saw a significant percentage of our client bookings either sourced through partners or involved a partner in one way. Partners are core to our growth strategy,” he said.

Alation says it’s the foundation for successful search and discovery, data literacy and data governance. That makes it possible for everyone in an organization to think data first, it said.

Here’s our most recent list of important channel-program changes you should know.

“There is more demand on the integration skills of SIs and solution providers who work with Alation software, which has led to a growing number of requests from SIs and resellers for more training, skills development and certification on Alation products,” Narsu said. “To fill this gap, APN has allowed us to expand our Alation University training and certification offerings to ensure those partners have a high-quality engagement with their clients.”

Data catalog technology plays an increasingly critical role within data intelligence and digital transformation initiatives. In turn, Alation’s products have to “play well” with other data preparation, data warehouse, data science and business intelligence software. APN supports that, the company said.

“As our enterprise clients increasingly invest in platforms to drive data intelligence, their focus on data governance increases,” said Scott Hanrahan, managing director at Keyrus. “Our partnership with Alation enhances our governance practice by helping our clients achieve proper quality and usage of data through democratization, enabling more confident, data-driven decisions.”
