AppZero Raises $3M in Funding for Upcoming Microsoft Migration

AppZero has secured $3 million in funding to ramp up sales and marketing efforts to capitalize on opportunities from the end of Microsoft (MSFT) Windows Server 2003 support.

In addition to sales and marketing for the upcoming Windows Server 2003 migration, AppZero will use part of the funding to "broaden our partner program and deepen the level of support we provide," AppZero CEO Greg O'Connor told Talkin' Cloud.

O' Connor said the company has signed up 10 new partners since the beginning of the year. "Much of the services work around application migration is done through our channel partners," he said.

He added that the company does not have any plans for additional funding at this point in time.

The round was funded by AppZero Chairman Nigel Stokes, former CEO and co-founder of DataMirror, now  part of IBM; Joseph Alsop, former CEO and co-founder of Progress Software;  Covington Capital; individual investments from the partners of Gold Bench Capital, LLC; Frank A Bonsal, Jr., founder of New Enterprise Associates (NEA); and Matt Ocko, technology entrepreneur and startup investor, co-founder and co-Managing Partner of Data Collective.

This is AppZero's fourth round of funding and brings the total amount raised to approximately $14 million.
