BitTitan is now assisting channel partners with moving Dropbox data to OneDrive for Business and Google Drive with its automated data migration solution, MigrationWiz.

The Kirland, Washington-based cloud solutions provider said the additional capabilities enable partners and businesses to take on shadow IT and consolidate into corporate IT.

BitTitan MigrationWiz Program Manager Jethro Seghers told Talkin’ Cloud in an interview that the company’s customers have been “asking for more data sources and integrations for automated migrations.”

“The biggest issue we hear from customers moving to the cloud, it’s an all or nothing situation,” he said. “Furthermore, companies need to be able to move employee Dropbox accounts easily into the corporate cloud structure, such as OneDrive for Business within Office 365.”

One of the reasons why BitTitan is targeting Dropbox for its channel partners is because “Dropbox also doesn’t comply with all industry standards regarding security, privacy and data compliancy,” he said.

“Destinations such as OneDrive for Business or Google Drive become part of the overall enterprise structure, giving IT full control over the data, security parameters and user profiles,” he said. “Dropbox is not an enterprise system, reducing the overall control and security that IT can manage company-wide.”

Seghers said BitTitan in 2015 “will continue to deliver new opportunities for our partners to grow their cloud business.”

“Not only will we be launching additional data sources and project options to make data and email migrations easier on partners, but we’ll be launching BitTitan DataEncryption, encryption at rest for Office 365,” he said.
