Talk about timing. Britec Computer Systems Ltd. and Empower Business Solutions — two Microsoft and SAGE channel partners with some managed services expertise — have merged. The combined Canadian company will focus on accounting solutions and managed business services. The deal surfaced a few days before Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference 2011 and SAGE Summit kicked off in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., respectfully.

According to a prepared statement from Britec President Roger Katarey:

“Clients are calling for more options when implementing accounting and business systems. They want solutions from one source that integrate their operations using value integrated modules, application software that deliver business intelligence, networks and infrastructure technologies, back-end services such as secure connections and redundant servers…By combining the skills of the empower analysts, developers and implementers with Britec’s expert team, product lines, knowledge and experience — along with industry leading software and hardware — Britec can better realize this vision.”

Financial terms of the Britec-Empower deal were not disclosed. Katarey remains president of Britec and several members of the Empower executive team are taking positions with Britec.

Also of note: Britec merged with MBC Solutions, another SAGE channel partner, in March 2011.
