CA Upgrades Network Management Solution
October 7, 2008
CA Inc. (CA) announced today a new version of CA Network Management, a fully integrated solution for seamless network performance, service, fault and configuration management. The new version of CA Network Management includes significant enhancements to CA eHealth Network Performance Manager (NPM) and CA SPECTRUM Network Fault Manager (NFM).
CA said its Network Management solution helps customers improve service availability, achieve network service commitments and avoid network outages to increase mean time before failure. The solution also helps to resolve network service problems quickly to decrease mean time to repair and maximize network asset utilization to reduce operational and capital expenditures.
“The CA Network Management solution is designed to help IT support the business with improved network and service availability at a lower cost,” said Roger Pilc, corporate senior vice president and general manager of CA’s Infrastructure Management and Data Center Automation business unit. “The solution’s new capabilities and integrations with other CA solutions further reduce the administrative overhead associated with disparate applications managing the same set of network assets and services.”
CA eHealth NPM r6.1 improves network service availability across IT infrastructure by proactively pinpointing service degradations to enable corrective action before users and business processes are affected. New enhancements to the solution include live reporting and monitoring features; and new traffic monitoring, application usage and reporting features.
CA SPECTRUM NFM r9.0 helps IT organizations avoid the risk and cost of unreliable network operations by providing best-in-class, integrated network service, fault and configuration management. The enhanced version includes several new network change and configuration management features that provide the ability to capture and store configurations, automate tasks, detect and audit changes, maintain policy compliance, and produce activity reports that enable faster MTTR and reduce business impact.
