Carbonite’s channel chief David Maffei has joined software vendor Akumina as chief revenue officer, responsible for building the company’s direct and channel-centric revenue.
He will also work to develop the company’s strategic business relationships across the Microsoft ecosystem, according to the announcement. Akumina’s flagship software solution, InterChange, augments Microsoft SharePoint to improve the overall user experience.
“David has a proven track record in the enterprise software industry. David’s extensive experience with the CMS marketplace as well as the Microsoft partner ecosystem makes him a perfect fit for Akumina as we look to rapidly grow.”
Maffei recently served as vice president of Sales at Carbonite (CARB), where he led the company’s direct and channel sales teams and played a significant role in channel marketing. Maffei joined the company in 2013 and won several accolades for his performance, including mentions in The VAR Guy’s Top 50 Channel Influencers and the No. 3 spot on the 2015 Talkin’ Cloud 100 honorees list.
Prior to Carbonite, Maffei held senior-level positions at Bridgeline Digital, a digital engagement platform vendor, as well as Ektron, which was acquired by Accel-KKR in December 2014 and merged with EpiServer in February of 2015, according to LinkedIn.
“Akumina is well-positioned to transform how companies experience SharePoint and even mobile content management through our InterChange product,” said Maffei. “I am excited to reunite with Ed Rogers and Steve Sherkanowski and about the opportunity to grow the already successful sales organization to achieve our aggressive and exciting strategic company goals.”
