You asked for it, we’ve got it. Welcome to this week’s Channel Partner Program Roundup, our far-from-complete collection of all things channel-related. In this edition we’ve got news from Comcast Business, F5 Networks and Windstream, so let’s get started.
Comcast Business: The data, voice and TV provider hasappointed channel vet Barry Williams as the new senior director of Indirect Channel Sales. He replaces Kevin Conmy, who has moved into the regional vice president slot for Comcast’s Freedom Region.
Williams formerly managed the Central Division team for the Comcast Business National Sales group. Prior to Comcast, he managed channel sales teams and VAR partners at Sun Microsystems (now Oracle) and Okidata.
F5 Networks: The application delivery vendorannounced its 2012 UNITY Partners of the Year awards for the Americas region. UNITY Partners of the Year are recognized for their “superior account management, customer service, and technical acumen,” according to the company.
“F5’s UNITY Partners of the Year awards recognize our partners’ dedication and unrelenting focus on addressing customer need,” said Keith McManigal, Regional VP of Channel Sales for the Americas at F5. “With the outstanding support of our partners, we offer customers a range of solutions that protect and deliver mission-critical applications and services. We congratulate all of the 2012 UNITY Partners of the Year.”
To select the winning partners, F5 measured results achieved during 2012 across eight categories. F5’s 2012 UNITY Partners of the Year are as follows:
UNITY Partner of the Year: FishNet Security
UNITY Security Partner of the Year: FishNet Security
UNITY Application Delivery Partner of the Year: Milestone Systems
UNITY Distributor of the Year: Carahsoft
UNITY Federal Partner of the Year: GuidePoint Security
UNITY Growth Partner of the Year: CentricsIT
UNITY Canadian Partner of the Year: Bell Canada

Windstream: The advanced network communications vendor is now offering Avaya’s Aura suite of communication solutions in a fully managed, cloud-based solution, offering its customers the benefits of unified communications, mobile and desktop collaboration, messaging and other applications in a scalable, subscription-based service.
“With Windstream’s vast experience as one of the nation’s largest Avaya channel partners, coast-to-coast network footprint and a growing number of enterprise-class data centers, we are able to offer customers of all sizes UC capabilities, helping them become more productive and competitive—all without the upfront capital costs of a traditional UC solution,” said Tim Whelehan, vice president of Business Development for Windstream.
