Channel Partner Program Roundup: Load DynamiX, Spectra Logic, Plantronics

Its time again for another edition of Channel Partner Program Roundup, a collection of partner-centric offerings curated for your convenience by your friendly neighborhood VAR Guy. I’ll be your honorary captain this week as we set sail with another cast of wily channel partners making waves in the industry. The week we’ve got stories from Plantronics (PLT), Load DynamiX and Spectra Logic. Hold onto your hats and get a good seat, because we’re about to get started.

Load DynamiX: The infrastructure performance validation provider took home EMC’s Technology Connect Advantage Partner of the Year award for its storage modeling software and load generation appliances for EMC storage infrastructure. The award was presented at EMC World conference in Las Vegas, with Load DynamiX being one of only three partners to receive EMC’s inaugural award.

EMC honored Load Dynamics for its dedication and commitment to the program and its reliability in providing performance validation appliances and storage workload modeling expertise for conducting proof of concepts. Load DynamicX’s ability to support the common objectives of EMC across the EMC federation by working with multiple units also helped it to bring home the prize.

“We are pleased to recognize Load DynamiX as an outstanding Technology Connect Advantage Partner of the Year,” said Don Lamburn, director of EMC Technology Connect Program, in a prepared statement. “We look forward to working with Load DynamiX as they play an important role in helping customers validate their infrastructure on their journey to the third platform.”

Spectra Logic: Spectra Logic also was honored during EMC World with an award for Technology Connect Select Partner of the Year for its contributions as a partner and ability to complement EMC data protection solutions. Spectra Logic has been a member of the EMC Technology Connect Select Program since 2012.

“Our alliance with EMC has expanded Spectra’s presence in dozens of countries across the globe, with a notable trend in the high performance computing (HPC), hospitality, finance, manufacturing and media & entertainment markets,” said Brian Grainger, executive vice president of Worldwide Sales and Sales Operations at Spectra Logic. “We are honored to receive EMC’s Technology Connect Select Partner of the Year award and greatly value our relationship with EMC.”

Plantronics: Not to be left out in the cold, Plantronics announced was named a 2014 Avaya DevConnect Partner innovation award recipient for headset integration with Avaya Aura through the company’s next-gen applications platform, Avaya Aura Collaboration Environment. Avaya presented Plantronics with the award for its “development of innovation applications and capabilities that enable new opportunities for Avaya customers.”

“As the work environment has become centered around what we do rather than where we are, it is important that our technology enable that,” said Erna Arnesen, vice president, Global Channel and Alliance Marketing at Plantronics.  “With the help of Avaya, we developed an innovative solution that allows people to continue collaborating seamlessly as they move between desktops and mobile phones.”

The new solution utilizes the proximity feature within the Plantronics headset and leverages Avaya Aura Collaboration Environment to seamlessly transfer audio- and video-based collaboration sessions between mobile and desktop environments, according to the press release. The design effectively allows users wearing a Plantronics headset to switch from a voice-only experience to a video and file-sharing collaboration by coming in proximity with a desktop running the Aura Collaboration Environment platform.

And with that, our tour through the wonderful world of channel partners comes to an end, at least for now. If you crave more channel partner news, make sure to join us back here next week for our greatest hits list of partners large and small as they make the headlines. Have a great weekend.
