Howdy folks, it’s mighty fine to see you back for another edition of Channel Partner Program Roundup. This week we’ve got the latest and greatest stories from our friends over at Marble Security, AlienVault and SentryBay to keep you up to date on everything there is to know about the channel. Let’s get to it.
Marble Security: Marble Security has named mobility consulting and professional services provider Troy Mobility as a certified U.S. VAR for its AppHawk mobile threat intelligence platform, allowing the company to resell the AppHawk service to enterprise customers.
The AppHawk service detects malicious IOS and Android apps to help customers prevent data loss from BYO and company-owned, personally enabled mobile devices, according to the announcement. Troy Mobility is the second new U.S. VAR authorized to sell the AppHawk service in the past several weeks, including Baltimore-based mobile enterprise solutions provider PaRaBaL in April.
“We have broad experience with mobility solutions, especially in the area of enterprise mobility management,” said Paul Troisi, Troy Mobility’s chief customer officer, in a statement. “Based on our extensive mobility expertise, we believe there is high demand and great value for Marble’s AppHawk threat intelligence solution. Without Marble’s app threat intelligence, enterprises are flying blind with their mobile apps.”
AlienVault: Unified security management provider AlienVault announced the launch of its enhanced AlienVault Certified Security Engineer certification program to recognize specialists who can plan, design, implement and operate the company’s USM platform.
"We're excited to introduce a new ACSE certification that was created with industry experts to accurately validate technical skills with AlienVault USM," said Don Field, vice president of Educational Services at AlienVault. "Many security professionals are seeking a way to demonstrate and promote their skills by earning a certification that is a distinct indicator of quality in the security industry. AlienVault partners and customers seeking top talent will benefit from the rigor and integrity of the ACSE exam process."
The exam costs $200 and can be taken at any of 750 testing centers worldwide, according to the announcement. Certified individuals who work for an organization with an existing AlienVault support contract will receive priority access to the company’s support engineers.
SentryBay: Real-time security software provider SentryBay announced a partnership with Check Point Software Technologies to provide its anti-phishing data feed to Check Point customers.
The data feed will be available through Check Point’s ThreatCloud IntelliStore marketplace and is expected to augment the company’s anti-virus and anti-bot malware protection and cloud-based security monitoring services, according to the announcement. SentryBay’s phishing technology uses tokens and images of web pages compared to “fingerprints” of specific sites to identify attacks in real-time.
“We are thrilled to be working with Check Point, who we see as a leader in cloud security solutions globally,” said SentryBay COO Marcus Whittington. “Our unique blend of technologies, including token comparison and training of key corporate brands provides a unique point of difference against phishing feeds available elsewhere. We look forward to working with Check Point and rolling this technology out to Check Point’s extensive enterprise customer base internationally.”
That’s all for now, but we’ll be back with a heaping helping of channel news next Thursday, so be sure to saunter on back, ya hear? Until, then, stay safe out there.
