Channel Partners Expo 2009 Award Winners
April 7, 2009
Indirect channel members showed up in record numbers at the Spring 2009 Channel Partners Conference & Expo in Las Vegas, March 1-3, where exhibitors rolled out spectacular displays of innovation, education and good, old-fashioned fun.
Attendees voted online to determine the Best in Show and PHONE+ shines the spotlight on the winners and runners-up in each of seven categories.
Best Channel Partners Event
It was “three the hard way,” with a three-way tie for Best Channel Partners Event.
World Telecom Group’s event at the VooDoo lounge had a lot going for it, not the least of which was the spectacular view from the club’s vantage point 51 stories up.
TelePacific Communications’ pervasive Hollywood theme resulted in a party that featured the PussyCat Dolls and put guests center stage at Rio’s I-Bar, where attendees sipped special blackberry cocktails and played with the new Microsoft surface platform.
Intelisys Telecom Solutions’ party at Drai’s is a Channel Partners industry standard. From the den decor to the dance floor, partners partied all night long.
Best Channel Incentive
Winner Lightyear Network Solutions’ President’s Club Hawaiian Retreat provides each qualifying agent and a guest with six days and five nights at the Mauna Lani Resort in Hawaii, plus airfare.
Runner-up One Communications’ Once-in-a-Lifetime Masters Club Trip gives top partners in 2009 the opportunity to go to Kenya for a trip “money cannot buy.”
Best Trade Show Promotion
AireSpring took first place with its “Don’t Gamble With Your Commissions” promotion that entered survey respondents’ names into a drawing for $1,000 and the option to risk those winnings for a chance to double them at the roulette wheel. (The winner declined.)
TelePacific Communications was runner up with a “Red Carpet” promotion that let attendees pose for a photo with a Marilyn Monroe lookalike. The photos were presented in an acrylic “film strip” frame.
Best Trade Show Theme
TMC Communications’ winning theme encouraged agents to “Be a Hero” — no tights necessary, capes optional.
TelePacific Communications’ “Headquartered in Tinsel Town” tied for the runner-up slot with TNCI’s “Doubledown with TNCI.”
Best Trade Show Giveaway
BandCon took first place with its best shot — of Karma Tequila.
The runner-up award went to Cbeyond’s handyman special — a tape measure, level, pen and paper tool combo.
Best First-Time Exhibitor
Winner Dell Inc. exhibited its multi-tenant remote network management platform MSPs and resellers.
Runner-up MX Logic is the largest independent managed security service in North America with award-winning services, such as e-mail defense, Web defense, disaster recovery and message archiving.
Best Trade Show Booth
It was “Hooray for Hollywood” all the way for winner TelePacific Communications whose “booth” turned in an Oscar-worthy performance as a red carpet walk.
Broadview Networks was runner-up with a 20’ x 20’ booth that combined the best of form and function with a 360-degree logo banner and pillar-based interactive demos.
All winners will receive a trophy at Fall 2009 Channel Partners Conference & Expo this September in Miami.
PHONE+ thanks all exhibitors for their incredible generosity and creativity in helping to make the Channel Partners Conference & Expo such a success. We’re pleased to be able to recognize their efforts.
