Cisco Adding Veeam to Global Price List in October
“This will enable Cisco and its resellers to deliver Veeam Availability solutions as easily and simply as any Cisco hardware or software product,” according to Veeam CEO Peter McKay.
Cisco partners will be able to resell Veeam backup products beginning this fall, Veeam announced in a new blog post.
The move is set to become official in early October, when Veeam is added to the Cisco Global Price List.
“This will enable Cisco and its resellers to deliver Veeam Availability solutions as easily and simply as any Cisco hardware or software product,” Veeam co-president and CEO Peter McKay wrote in the blog post.
Veeam describes its availability solutions as a more sophisticated type of backup and disaster recovery (BDR), designed for the “always-on enterprise.”
“Leveraging IT investments in server virtualization, modern storage and the cloud to help organizations meet today’s service-level objectives, enabling recovery of any IT service and related applications and data within seconds and minutes,” says the product page for the Veeam Availability Suite 9.5.
The deepening of the existing relationship between Cisco and Veeam is a recognition of the growing importance of data protection and availability to the wave of digital transformation, Veeam’s McKay wrote.
“For Cisco resellers, this means they can soon easily order and deliver a complete Availability solution with pre-validated designs that will meet the demands of application Availability across hybrid-cloud environments,” the CEO’s post said. “This streamlined order process will allow Veeam to be quoted directly through Cisco and enable ‘one-stop shopping.’”
“Cisco customers will have the reassurance that they’re buying an industry-leading Availability solution,” the post continued. “Our software passed Cisco’s interoperability testing, and it uses pre-validated designs so customers can meet stringent service-level objectives.”
