Managed cloud and hosting provider Hostway Services has named Emil Sayegh CEO and president, succeeding Robert Boles, who will take on an external advisory role to help smooth the transition. Boles served as Hostway CEO from February 2014.
Prior to Hostway, Sayegh led Codero as CEO, president and chairman of the board. During his tenure at Codero he led the company to its sale to a consortium of 32 telecommunication providers in 2015.
“I am excited and honored to be joining Hostway, and partnering both with investment firm, Littlejohn, and the Hostway team to take the company to the next level in serving its global footprint of 100,000 customers. As one of the world’s largest cloud hosting and Infrastructure-as-a-Service providers and one of the most respected brands in hosting, Hostway has a tremendous future ahead of it,” Sayegh said in a statement. “I am passionate about the cloud and hosting industry and enabling the success of our business customers worldwide. At a critical time when our industry is on the cusp of further disruption, I am very confident in our ability to execute on our strategy and win. It’s an honor to lead this company into greatness.”
Previously Sayegh served as VP of Cloud Services at HP, guiding the company into the public cloud market and adoption of OpenStack, after serving as VP and GM of the Cloud Computing divison at Rackspace.
Hostway, named #14 on the 2016 Talkin’ Cloud 100, has 600,000 direct customers, but serves more than 2 million customers indirectly through its white label and resale partnerships, according to its website. Among those cloud resellers is 40 percent of Fortune 500 service providers.
“Emil is a high-energy, customer-focused leader with an impressive track record of success in the hosting and cloud computing industry. After a thorough CEO search, we are very pleased to welcome him to the Hostway team knowing that he will successfully implement strategies to accelerate customer and revenue growth,” Michael Kaplan, chairman of Hostway’s board of directors and partner with private equity firm Littlejohn & Co., Hostway’s principal investor said. “We are also appreciative of his predecessor, Robert Boles, who came into Hostway at a critical time and has helped position the company for future success.”
