Comstor Enhances GSA Schedule
July 22, 2009
Westcon Group Inc. announced that its Comstor business unit has made significant enhancements to its GSA (General Services Administration) schedule 70. These enhancements consist of more than 24,000 new Cisco products, including the Cisco TelePresence system and Cisco’s physical security portfolio.
Last year, total spending in the GSA schedule 70 category was $15.7 billion. This year, Comstor expects a robust federal buying season, especially in light of the recently passed American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), which committed the U.S. Government to spending $787 billion in the U.S. economy over the next three years.
“Comstor’s knowledge and range of experience in the Government IT sector is unmatched by any other distributor,” said Andy Banks, vice president North America, Cisco sales, Comstor. “In addition to being the sole authorized GSA schedule holder with Cisco products on its contract, we recently introduced our New Start America program – this helps government resellers take advantage of the multibillion-dollar opportunity that has been made available through the ARRA Act passed earlier this year.”
Comstor’s GSA schedule program is available to Cisco Premier and above certified resellers selling to the federal, state or local governments.
