Continuum and LogMeIn: RMM Meets Remote Access
February 22, 2012
Continuum, the remote monitoring and management (RMM) software provider, has agreed to become the the official MSP channel partner of LogMeIn, the remote access and IT management service provider. Under the terms of the deal, which lasts for only one year, Continuum will promote LogMeIn Pro and LogMeIn Free to its manged services partners.
“We believe the combination of our RMM services and LogMeIn’s remote access capabilities will introduce new opportunities for MSPs to better serve their clients and grow their business,” Continuum CEO Michael George said in a prepared statement. “Our agreement with LogMeIn ensures that our partners uniquely benefit from the combined value of remote access and RMM technology.”
Continuum (formerly Zenith RMM) has been partnering on a number of fronts. The company recently launched Continuum Vault, a backup and disaster recovery (BDR) service built in partnership with Datto.
Meanwhile, the Continuum-LogMeIn deal sounds like a trial agreement between two companies that have never worked together before. If the one-year relationship runs as planned, we can probably expect the two sides to sign a longer-term agreement sometime during late 2012, I suspect.
Combining remote access and RMM solutions is becoming increasingly popular. For LogMeIn, the potential upside from the deal is clear. LogMeIn now has a channel to reach a broader range of managed services providers. Continuum supports over 3,300 MSPs and a little less than 500,000 SMB endpoints around the world.
For Continuum, partnering with LogMeIn gives the company a chance to do two things: strengthen its RMM offering by adding a remote access solution, and target a whole new sector. While LogMeIn Free is designed for the SMB sector, LogMeIn Pro is targeted at larger enterprise businesses. No word yet on whether or not Continuum plans to target enterprises IT departments, but offering LogMeIn Pro can only improve those chances.
