Dell KACE Launches Midsized Business K-Series Appliance
November 17, 2011
Dell KACE, the arm of Dell that focuses on endpoint and device management, is launching a new offering specifically aimed at midmarket businesses with growing needs. If you’re a VAR working with a customers that has at least 1,000 endpoints, read on for the details on the new K-Series Advanced appliance line with “pay as you grow” options …
Dell KACE has tasked itself with focusing on the midmarket, because according to Dell, the SMB has “been treated as a single, homogeneous segment within the IT solutions market.” But Dell knows midsized businesses often have much larger and more unique needs than their smaller brethren.
Enter the K1100-ADV and K2100-ADV. Part of Dell KACE’s new line of K-Series appliances, these beefy endpoint management units come with quad-core Intel Xeon CPUs and enough bells and whistles to ensure bottlenecks and downtime are a thing of the past. Naturally, Dell ProSupport also comes with these appliances, which scale up to 3,500 endpoints. According to Dell KACE, deploying these appliances can ensure midsized businesses don’t have to worry about forklift upgrades when growth comes-a-knocking.
Conspicuously absent from Dell’s press release? Any details regarding the price for the much touted “pay-as-you-grow” feature or the appliances themselves, but Dell did say these prices vary by region. I’ve reached out for an official price tag, so stay tuned for an update. Be sure to also check out Dell KACE’s SMB asset management solution, which launched Q2 2011.
