Avnet: Avnet has had a very busy week, with the distributor announcing that a series of integrated, packaged solutions powered by Amazon Web Services are available via the Avnet Cloud Marketplace.
The AWS-powered offerings include backup and disaster recovery solutions that combine software from NetApp and Veritas with Amazon Simple Storage Service, as well as collaboration solutions, according to the announcement. All of the new solutions are available through the channel for U.S. and Canadian partners.
“Our partners now have access to a broad solutions portfolio powered by one of the industry’s most well-known cloud providers that they can start selling immediately through a marketplace environment, accelerating their time to market and simplifying implementation, said Tim FitzGerald, vice president of Avnet’s Cloud Solutions business in the Americas. These solutions are intentionally focused on the workloads that are in the highest demand among their customers, helping partners gain immediate traction and furthering their roles as trusted advisors.”
In other Avnet news, the distributor recently signed an agreement in the Americas with Aeris, a provider of IoT and M2M network solutions. The deal allows Avnet to offer customers in IoT markets a unified platform to help manage their cellular connectivity, according to the company.
“We know that Avnet’s new service, together with Aeris’ platform and support, will not only simplify creating an IoT solution, but also help Avnet customers to bring those solutions to market much faster,” said Andy Greig, vice president of sales, North America of Aeris.
Synnex: Following up on last week’s Partner of the Year award from Ruckus Wireless, Synnex was also named North American Distributor of the Year 2015 by Symantec (SMYC).
Symantec presented the award during its Partner Engage conference in Orlando last month, and recognized Synnex for achieving the highest annual partner growth overall and in the commercial space, according to the announcement.
"With cybersecurity as one of the top concerns among businesses today, being named Symantec North American Distributor of the Year validates Synnex' ongoing commitment to solving the most pertinent business challenges for our IT channel partners," said Peter Larocque, president of North American Technology Solutions for Synnex. "By creating a number of unique programs and Synnex-exclusive value-adds, we are able to provide the highest level of service and support to enable our partners to deliver unmatched security solutions for their customers in this critical space."
Arrow: Arrow Electronics and Westcon-Comstor Group North America have partnered with security solution provider ForeScout Technologies to develop a two-tier distributor program for the company’s North American partners.
The program, which ForeScout said is modeled on a solutions-based approach, is expected to help the company utilize the various strengths of its distribution partners and provide a number of benefits to resellers, solution providers and system integrators. A series of industry-standard benefits are included in the program, such as marketing and sales support provided through Arrow and Westcon, as well as training and certification tools, according to the announcement.
“In the past several years, partnerships in the overseas market have allowed us to meet the demands of our large, multinational customers,” said Brian Gumbel, vice president of Americas sales at ForeScout Technologies. “Extending these partnerships into the Americas will lend tremendous support to the fastest-growing segments of our business, Global 2000 enterprises and government organizations."
That’s all for now, but we hope to see you back here next time. Until then, keep on distributing.
