It’s Distribution Watch time! This week we gathered up the latest stories from Avnet (AVT), Tech Data (TECD), Ingram Micro (IM) and Synnex (SNX) for your reading enjoyment. Without further ado, let’s get started.

Avnet: Avnet Technology Solutions is this year’s recipient of the Cisco Americas Distribution Award for Data Center Architecture Distributor of the Year. The award was presented during Cisco’s Americas Distribution Auxiliary Meeting in Canada last month.

The award recognized Avnet for its excellence and quality execution in 2014 and acknowledged the distributor for its contribution to Cisco’s business transformation, said Andrew Sage, vice president of Americas Distribution at Cisco.

“Receiving the Cisco Data Center Architecture Distributor of the Year award for the fourth consecutive year underscores the significance of Avnet and Cisco’s relationship and Avnet’s continuing commitment to honing our unique assembly and configuration capabilities for Cisco data center products,” said Phillip Privett, vice president of Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas, Cisco Solutions group, in a statement.

Avnet also received Cisco Marketing Velocity’s Revenue Marketer of the Year award during the Cisco Partner Summit 2015 for successfully executing revenue marketing campaigns, marking the first time that a distributor has received an award in this category, according to the announcement.

Tech Data: Tech Data announced a distribution agreement with Blueforce Development Corp. to offer the company’s portfolio of mobile and wireless software solutions to resellers in the United States. The solutions are available through Tech Data’s Mobile Solutions and Retail Division, according to the announcement.

The agreement will allow Tech Data to expand its vertical-specific expertise by giving the distributor the ability to pre-configure Blueforce’s software with accessories and software from existing solution providers, said Yvette Martinez-Wilson, director of Carrier Relations and Services at Tech Data.

"Government, education and enterprise entities need solutions that support ever-increasing security requirements," said Michael Helfrich, CEO at Blueforce. "We're thrilled to leverage Tech Data's channel to reach new customers and to have our portfolio of products packaged in a way that makes implementation a fast and easy process for end users."

Ingram Micro/Synnex:  Projector and audio solutions technology provider Optoma Technology announced a partnership with both Ingram Micro and Synnex to distribute its NuForce audio solutions in the United States.

Both Ingram and Synnex will begin immediate distribution of the NuForce portfolio, including headphones, digital audio converters and home stereo products, according to the announcement.

"NuForce prides itself on being the preferred choice among discerning audio enthusiasts and professional audiophiles," said Maureen Schmidt, vice president of North American Sales at Optoma Technology. "Optoma's strong relationships with these notable distributors broadens NuForce's reach to music and home entertainment lovers of all levels, making it easy for new customers to experience the brand's exceptional sound and sleek designs."

That’s all for now folks, and be sure to join us again next week for a new batch of distribution-centric news. Until then, keep on distributing.
