Hey there racing fans, and welcome back for another dose of weird, wonderful, and wild news with Distribution Watch. This week we’ve got the latest from Ingram Micro (IM), Synnex (SNX), Novus, Tech Data (TECD) and Arrow (ARW). So sit back, pop open a cold one and plant your peepers on this week’s headlines.
Ingram Micro: Enterprise mobility management and telecom solutions provider Globo will be expanding its distribution agreement with Ingram Micro, which will give North American channel partners serving both the SMB and enterprise space access to its complete portfolio of Go!Enterprise products.
“Our strategic partnership with Ingram … will now enable us to further build our brand in the U.S. and Canada and deliver our complete range of enterprise mobility solutions to address the requirements of corporations of all sizes under a single platform – GO!Enterprise,” said Costis Papadimitrakopoulos, Globo’s CEO. “This provides us with the ideal platform to begin expanding our product range to other regions of the globe.”
Synnex: Networking vendor Netsocket has signed on with Synnex for the company’s Netsocket Virtual Edge solution. The new service will give SMBs access to a cloud-managed virtual network optimized for their specific needs, according to the press release.
“Cloud-based solutions are dramatically changing the way IT spend is distributed, with shifts to an as-a-service model,” said Bob Stegner, senior vice president of Marketing, North America, Synnex. “Our agreement with Netsocket supports resellers and managed service providers who are ready to begin selling the benefits of virtualized networking and further expands Synnex’ SDN and cloud solutions to the edge of the network.”
Netsocket’s solutions will be available through Synnex’s ConvergeSolv group, and will allow resellers to have the ability to layer services at greater margins than traditional hardware resellers across a much wider network of potential customers. The company also announced the launch of the Netsocket Virtual Partner Program, which will give resellers additional markering and training materials in addition to a new pilot kit, which will be available for a limited time for $1,700.
Novus: The boutique distributor will begin carrying AudioCode’s IP destop phones, media gateways and session border controllers as a part of its efforts to expand its portfolio of Lync products.
“Partnering with AudioCodes was an easy decision,” said Chris Meehan, managing partner of Novus, in a statement. “They are a leader in IP voice communication and, like Novus, have deep expertise with Lync and are focused on proliferating Lync as UC platform in the enterprise.”
Tech Data: Johan Vanbenbussche has been appointed as Tech Data Europe’s senior vice president for Operations, a role recently created by the distribution giant. In the new position, Vanbenbussche will report to TD Europe company president Nestor Cano and will focus his efforts on leading the operations unit for the region.
Vanbenbussche is a 15-year veteran at Tech Data and has served in various management roles during his tenure. He is to assume the new role immediately.
Arrow: The IT distributor has signed a distribution agreement with SAS Institute, a major business intelligence vendor. As part of the deal, Arrow will sell SAS’s products and solutions though its network of resellers in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
“SAS is enriching our portfolio with some of the most sophisticated analytical tools available,” said Mark Taylor, vice president of Enterprise Servers, Systems and Software at Arrow. “SAS solutions are the perfect addition to our existing Big Data and analytics software practice. Our solution providers are already finding exciting new ways to help customers create insights, solve complex problems and make forward-looking decisions.”
