Is it Friday already? That means it's time for Distribution Watch, our weekly collection of distribution news and other stuff. This week our news comes from Jenne Inc., Ingram Micro (NYSE: IM) and Synnex (NYSE: SNX), so put on your boogie shoes and let's move.
Jenne Inc.: The networking and communications distributor has signed a distribution agreement with AMX, vendor of software-configurable meeting room control solutions. Under the terms of the agreement, Jenne will distribute AMX’s complete line of Enova DVX meeting room appliances and Modero X-Series touch panels, control pads, lighting and client access solutions for VTC integration.
AMX’s solution is appliance-based and software-enabled, and can be deployed to complement any major vendor’s unified communications products. They include AMX’s RPM cloud-based software to configure a meeting room in less than an hour vs. traditional programming, which can take weeks to design and implement.
Jenne will be supporting the AMX solution with a product manager who will serve as a liaison between its technical services and sales associates and AMX. Additionally, Jenne will work with its resellers to introduce them to and train them on the AMX Enova platform so they can identify opportunities and take the solution to their customers.
Ingram Micro: The global distributor's mobility division, Ingram Micro Mobility, has expanded its logistics services contract with ACN Digital Phone Service (ACN), to provide forward and reverse logistics services for mobile virtual network operator Flash Wireless in the United States.
Under the terms of the agreement, Ingram Micro Mobility, formally known as BrightPoint, will provide a variety of critical logistic services including handset flashing, packaging, procurement services, special service requests, order fulfillment, reverse logistics, asset management and repair services for Flash Wireless.
"We are pleased to expand our relationship [with Ingram Micro] to include Flash Wireless. This agreement further
optimizes the Flash Wireless and ACN supply chain, allowing ACN to maintain lower inventory levels and reduced operating costs," said Hayri Barutcu, Flash Wireless general manager, ACN. "We are confident that Ingram Micro Mobility's innovative services will further assist us in our mission to provide our customers with the best possible wireless experience."
Synnex: Looking to add Microsoft Office 365 to your services palette? Synnex is now offering Office 365 for small and midsize businesses through an Open and Full Package Product (FPP) licensing model.
"We are seeing tremendous interest in technologies such as Office 365," said Rob Moyer, vice president, Microsoft Global Business Unit and Cloud Services at Synnex.. "Small and midsize companies have realized that cloud services can help them grow and be more competitive while simultaneously reducing IT complexity. We provide resellers the tools needed to give them leverage over competitors, while making their transition to the cloud nearly effortless."
Additionally, resellers own the billing process, which allows them to sell Office 365 subscriptions to customers through their own sales models.
To support the adoption of Office 365, partners have access to Synnex's Capture the Cloud program, which offers both new and established cloud resellers a tiered program to deliver partners with resources including dedicated Office 365 experts, training and end user marketing support.
And that's this week Distribution Watch. Hope you got a good workout. Stop by next week and see what we're working on. Until then, stay safe.
