Happy Tuesday folks! Congratulations on making it through Monday – the weekend is only a few days away! In the meantime, check out this week's edition of Distribution Watch, featuring the latest news from Promark Technology Group, Arrow Electronics (AVT) and Synnex (SNX).
Promark Technology: Promark Technology, a subsidiary of Ingram Micro (IM) has agreed to sell Rubrik’s converged backup solution portfolio to its U.S. channel partners.
The partnership is expected to “enable the solution provider and managed service provider community to pursue commercial and public sector opportunities,” according to the announcement.
"Rubrik's radically new approach to data protection delivers game-changing simplicity, manageability and ROI," said Bill Cordero, head of worldwide channels at Rubrik. "We are pleased to work with Promark to bring this solution to their growing network of channel partners."
Arrow: Arrow debuted a host of new Internet of Things (IoT) offerings last week during IoT World in Santa Monica as part of the company’s Evolve IoT portfolio.
The solutions are designed to support customers through the full IoT product lifecycle (or “from sensor to sunset,” as Arrow calls it), meaning channel partners can future-proof their customers’ deployments. Available solutions fall into one of several categories, including industrial IoT, retail, smart cities and life sciences.
“Working five years out enabled Arrow to take a forward-looking view of the IoT ecosystem and assemble the right mix of tools and suppliers to provide our customers with comprehensive IoT support—everything from hardware, sensors and product design to connectivity, data analytics and even secure, sustainable end-of-life asset retirement,” said Andy King, president of Arrow’s global components business.
Synnex: Synnex will distribute Toronto-based ioFABRIC’s software-defined storage platform, called ioFABRIC Vicinity, to its reseller ecosystem. Vicinity is an SDS 2.0-based platform.
Channel partners can either sell Vicinity as a licensed software and support solution or choose to whitelabel it with added hardware or software, according to the announcement.
“As a company 100 percent dedicated to selling through the channel, Synnex is an ideal collaborator to help us extend the reach of Vicinity throughout the reseller community,” said Nigel Miller, vice president of Business Development for ioFABRIC. “Together, ioFABRIC and Synnex are well positioned for ensuring partners get the tools, resources and benefits needed to solve pressing IT issues of effectively using flash, dealing with data growth and managing disparate storage across the enterprise for their customer base.”
That's all for now, but we hope to see you back next week for even more great distribution-centric news. Until then, keep on distributing.
