Distribution Watch: Synnex, Ingram Micro, Tech Data
This week's Distribution Watch features the latest stories from our friends at Synnex, Ingram Micro and Tech Data.
Congratulations on making it all the way to Thursday, friends. Let’s celebrate the upcoming weekend with some exciting distributor news from Synnex (SNX), Ingram Micro (IM) and Tech Data (TECD).
Synnex: Synnex has been named one of the “Best Places to Work in South Carolina” in the large employer category for the fifth year in a row, according to an announcement.
The Greenville-based company was recognized for fostering a positive working environment earlier this month at a ceremony in Columbia, South Carolina.
"At Synnex, we take great pride in implementing programs that build camaraderie throughout our organization, and we are glad to know how much our associates value our efforts,” said Peter Larocque, President, North American Technology Solutions at Synnex, in a statement. “The success we have achieved as a company would not be possible without their continued service and commitment to driving results."
Ingram Micro: Ingram Micro has been chosen as an Aggregator for the VMware vCloud Air Network Managed Service Provider program in the United States, according to the distributor.
As members of the Managed Service Provider program, Ingram’s channel partners can now provide managed services hosted on VMware vCloud Air Network as well as leverage VMware to increase their infrastructure capabilities, according to the announcement.
“The sales and recurring revenue opportunity around virtualization, hosting third party applications, infrastructure, cloud-based solutions and other advanced managed services is sizable for channel partners focused on the needs of small and midsize businesses and enterprises,” said Jason Bystrak, executive director of Ingram Micro Cloud. “As a strategic VMware business partner and Aggregator for VMware vCloud Air Network Service Providers, Ingram Micro is well positioned to help MSPs unleash their potential, close more business and realize greater recurring revenues selling their managed services and supporting VMware vCloud Air.”
Tech Data: Tech Data resellers now have access to Sphere 3D’s (ANY) cloud and hybrid cloud solutions through the Tech Data Cloud Solutions store.
The expanded agreement, which was completed via Overland Storage, Sphere’s subsidiary, was designed to allow partners to offer their customers an expanded full lineup of virtualization and data management solutions to meet increasing demand for cloud-based data protection.
"As the move to the cloud accelerates, our solution providers are looking to us to help them simplify the transition to cloud based IT services delivery," said Ken Griffin, vice president of Product Marketing and Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) at Tech Data. "Our expanded relationship with Sphere 3D and Overland Storage allows us to offer new cloud solutions within our AIS portfolio and the overall ability to fundamentally change the economics of delivery of end-to-end hybrid cloud architectures."
That’s all for now, folks, but we hope to see you back week. Until then, keep on distributing.
