Enterasys Networks Launches OneFabric, New Partner Program
October 18, 2011
While mobile device management continues to take the channel by storm, there’s another data center item that requires some reining in: the ever-expanding virtual data center. As VM and mobility needs increase in complexity, new approaches to managing all that will be necessary. Enterasys says it has the solution in OneFabric. Details follow …
Here’s what Enterasys’ OneFabric solution can give partners and customers:
Simplified single-pane management: Performance monitoring and network visibility, from wired computers to wireless mobile connections. OneFabric is designed to provide an entire single-pane-of-glass dashboard that allows IT admins to get at-a-glance information on how they can scale and provision physical machines, mobile devices and VMs for applications and security needs.
Multi-vendor friendly: OneFabric plays nice with VMware, Citrix and Microsoft, so “unified management” can be a reality in your data center.
Easier on IT admins and wallets: OneFabric promises to bring better tools for partners to manage entire network infrastructures and ensure SLAs are on track. Enterasys also is positioning OneFabric’s deep visibility as a way to ensure the data center is operating at peak efficiency while also making sure customers are enjoying optimal quality of service.
Adding to the OneFabric cloth is the new partner program Enterasys built around it, the OneFabric Ready Alliance Program. It features vendors that have partnered with Enterasys to deliver integrated and pretested interoperable solutions with Enterasys’ portfolio. The initial vendors are VMware, Palo Alto Networks, Silver Peak and Pivot3. All four represent key data center areas: virtualization, networking, WAN optimization and storage solutions. Partners working with Enterasys will have access to these vendors’ solutions in Enterasys’ demo lab, in addition to joint marketing and training programs. Plans to add more vendors in the near future is on track.
It’s important to note Enterasys isn’t the only player in the virtualization and network management arena. VMTurbo recently signed on four global partners to expand its product footprint, and Symantec has been pushing its virtualization agenda with products including V-ray for deep VM inspection and protection.
