Extrahop, SevOne Form Network Monitoring Technology Alliance
April 27, 2011
Extrahop Networks, an application performance management specialist, and SevOne, focused on network performance management, have inked a technology alliance. The goal: Deliver, both companies claim, “the industry’s best application-aware network performance management system” to Extrahop and SevOne clients. Here’s the update.
Extrahop and SevOne have been doing business with one another for the past year. After evaluating their client bases, SevOne and Extrahop decided that a partnership would be the best way to meet client demand. “Our companies have a shared vision,” said Extrahop Networks Director of Marketing Justin Baker. “We are both looking for true integration. And this is a truly integration system.”
The plan is to combine SevOne’s all-in-one performance features with Extrahop’s agentless, network appliance, passive deployment and network-level analysis system. In theory the integrated solutions will offer:
Enterprise-wide consolidated view of application and network performance;
real-time analysis with proactive alerting and troubleshooting;
ease of deployment, fast time to results, small solution footprint, and lower cost of ownership; and
a rapid return on investment without the months of hassle of traditional APM deployments.
“We try to remove the affordability and scalability issues from network performance management,” said SevOne Senior Director of Product Management and Marketing Pete Cruz. “We do this by offering an all-in-one monitoring solution. Clients don’t have to buy individual add-ons.” But going forward, the SevOne-Extrahop solutions should stretch from network performance management to application management.
