MacDonald replaces previous channel director Neil Sawyer, who is now UK & Ireland managing director and general manager at Lenovo.
HP’s UK & Ireland managing director is Dave Prezzano. He described MacDonald as “a key factor in our growth and success” of HP’s retail and commercial offerings.
“His 12 years of experience at HP and unique skill set will continue to be a tremendous asset as he takes up this new position.”
‘Unlocking Opportunities for Sales’
MacDonald has held various sales-focused roles across the UK & Ireland, including PS and print consumer director. He most recently led the EU team responsible for the go-to-market strategy for marketplaces and Amazon.

MacDonald said he was “delighted to have the opportunity to work closely with those valued partners.” He also cited “successful new relationships with those in the commercial arenas.”
“We have seen a tremendous amount of change in the past 18 months, for obvious reasons. However now more than ever, we feel optimistic for the future. We’re delivering the experiences needed to thrive in a hybrid world with our product developments, portfolio and services. This, coupled with the new Amplify Partner Program and the underlying robust growth in the market, fuels our ambitions for a successful 2022.”
As channel director, MacDonald said he would be “collaborating with many of HP’s longstanding partners in pursuit of unlocking opportunities for sales growth in 2022.”
