Huddle Appoints New CEO For Fresh Perspective

Huddle has appointed Morten Brøgger as its new CEO to replace Alastair Mitchell, co-founder of the San Francisco-based cloud collaboration services provider.

Huddle has appointed Morten Brøgger as its new CEO to bring on board a fresh perspective. He’s replacing Alastair Mitchell, co-founder of the San Francisco-based cloud collaboration services provider. Mitchell has been leading the company since November 2006.

“I believe that for Huddle to become the undisputed leader in cloud collaboration and to achieve our vision of transforming the way teams work globally, we needed someone with experienced CEO leadership at scale at the company’s helm,” Mitchell said. “Morten has the ability and experience to accelerate Huddle’s growth, drive expansion into new territories and continue the company on its path to becoming a billion business.”

Mitchell, who will be focusing on Huddle’s global brand and market impact as the company’s president and CMO, said it was his decision to step down from his post.

Brøgger previously led Mach, a Luxembourg-based telecommunications firm, where he assisted with selling the company to Syniverse in 2013 — a deal worth $715 million. He also held several other leadership roles at Sunrise Switzerland, TDC Denmark and ATEA.

As CEO, he plans to grow Huddle’s user base, expand into new territories and focus on selected verticals. Brøgger also hopes to strengthen the company’s business activities in established markets.

Huddle’s appointment comes on the heels of a $51 million Series D financing round. The company has raised a total of $86 million of funding to date.

As for Huddle’s vision of going public, Brøgger isn’t jumping on the bandwagon at the moment. “It’s not a focus at the moment as right now it’s all about taking Huddle into its next growth phase,” he said.

“Whatever, the future holds, we want to ensure that we do the right thing, at the right time for the business,” Brøgger added.
