Jim Anderson, CEO of Chicago-based Switchfast Technologies, shares three suggestions he'd apply if he were launching an MSP today.
1. Be crystal clear on who you are – This is about your culture and values.
I’m sure this is critical for any business, but I believe especially so when you’re talking about service.
If you’re not clear on what your values are, you’ll end up with a culture that may counteract the results you are trying to achieve.
There is no rationalizing partial achievement when it comes to values; you’re either all in, or you’re not a fit for our team.
2. Security needs to be part of your DNA – Security is not just a set of tools, it needs to be a mindset you share with your employees and clients.
Attention to security can make or break a company nowadays, thanks to the rise of ransomware.
The days of thinking the cost could outweigh the risk are over.
3. Invest early in management – We have been fortunate to have had many years of exciting growth, and the only way to successfully handle that growth is through establishing management roles and goals.
These roles have been critical to the always increasing technical and professional development of our team members, achievement of company goals, and ensuring our culture remains strong.
