Day One Partner Summit Keynote
Veeam partners headed to their seats for the first day keynote session where they learned from company executives, such as Kevin Rooney, vice president, Americas, channel; Peter McKay, president and co-CEO; and Kate Hutchinson, chief marketing officer, among others, about what's ahead for Veeam and its partners.
The big message was the company's push to capture the enterprise market — and a new branding effort.
Multibillion-Dollar Opportunity Ahead
Kevin Rooney, vice president, Americas, channel, told attendees that Veeam will end 2018 at $1.1 billion in software revenue.
Veeam is a 100 percent channel-led company. Its plan is to well exceed $2 billion-plus beyond 2020, he said.
Alliance Momentum
Veeam has been busy building its alliance partnerships. Here's a glance at the number of strategic alliances the company has been built in just one year.
In January, Veeam and HPE launched the first year of a resell agreement, followed by a doubleheader with IBM and Microsoft in May. Then the company created agreements with Nutanix, Snapshot, VMware, NetApp and Cisco — and the vendor isn't stopping there, partners were told.
The Expo Hall
One of the most valuable activities for partners is walking the expo floor. Partners get to talk to exhibitors and learn about new products. Well over three-dozen vendors – including premier sponsors Cisco, HPE, IBM, Microsoft, Netapp and VMware – set up shop.
HPE and Veeam
On the expo floor, HPE ran sessions for partners to learn about HPE/Veeam product integrations. Earlier this month, HPE announced next-generation HPE Nimble Storage Adaptive Flash Arrays with Veeam Backup software integration. The HPE Nimble and Veeam partnership goes back five years.
Get Your 'Hands On'
VeeamOn conference attendees got to do more than hear about company alliances, strategy and products. Partner certification trainings were available and Veeam experts were on hand to help partners learn about vendor solutions in the Hands On Labs.
Hyper-Availability Market
Today's businesses demand data that's active, intelligent and always on — that's "hyper-availability." The hyper-availability market is projected to be worth $30 billion by 2022 and Veeam is looking to capture a slice of this market with its partners.
The product components that make up hyper-availability include: data management, e-discovery, visibility and control, endpoint backup, email and data security, SaaS backup, and backup and recovery.
Veeam Partner Journey
With help from its partners, Veeam just passed the 300,000 customer mark.
Veeam partners historically know the vendor for virtual server backup. But today, Veeam offers a broad product portfolio, a platform that partners can use to grow their businesses.
In 2008, Veeam protected VMware virtual workloads; in 2018, partners and Veeam are enabling the hyper-available enterprise.
NewCloud Networks
About a year ago, NewCloud Networks, a nationwide cloud and communications provider, achieved platinum status in the Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCS) Program. Platinum partners have achieved the highest designation in the Veeam program.

VeeamOn 2018 and the VeeamOn Partner Summit, held May 14-16, were all about the company’s new vision: to be the most trusted provider of intelligent data-management solutions, meeting the expectations of a world that demands the “hyper-availability” of data.
Kate Hutchison, recently appointed chief marketing officer, walked partners through the company’s rebranding message and strategy.
More than 2,200 attendees attended the event last week in Chicago. The company switched up the conference a bit this year, making Chicago the home to an Americas event. Additional shows are being held in other regions. Sporting a new mission statement, company executives will spend time all over the world to make sure partners are on board with the new messaging.
