IT Nation 2013: The Secret Meeting that Never Was?

At IT Nation 2013, MSP industry leaders and influencers gathered quietly for a secret, unplanned sit-down. Five hours later, the leaders went their separate ways. Perhaps forever. So what was discussed behind closed doors?

Sometimes the best meetings are the ones you don’t plan. A case in point: Thursday night at IT Nation 2013, my smartphone kept receiving texts asking “can we meet?” My simple answer: I’m working but stop by my hotel room if you want to talk shop. The result: A steady stream of industry influencers kept on swinging by. So what did we discuss for nearly five hours?

Alas, 99.9 percent of the discussion was off the record. Plus, we turned off all social media pipelines during a marathon gathering that ran from around 7:00 p.m. to midnight. The only evidence of the gathering involves the photo above. (Everyone in the picture agreed to have their attendence disclosed.)

One obvious question: Who snapped the picture for us? Here again, I can’t disclose the answer.

I also can’t really go into the MSP chatter, but I can share this piece of info about the meeting: It covered much more than the MSP market. 4-Profit President Larry Kesslin, for instance, has a moon shot idea that seeks to change the world. No joke.
