Value-added distributor Jenne Inc. has joined the bandwagon of vendors and distributors focusing on physical security. This time, Panasonic’s line of i-Pro IP surveillance cameras is joining the Jenne family. Here’s what partners can expect …

Jenne’s move to distribute Panasonic’s i-PRO line of cameras comes at a perfect time — Jenne sees VARs looking for new opportunities and SMEs with large data centers increasingly finding the need for physical security solutions. Jenne has worked with Panasonic before, but the expanded relationship with security cameras comes as Jenne sees the physical security industry growing “24 percent over the next five years.”

Panasonic’s i-PRO SmartHD cameras feature HD-quality recording and ease of scalability, plus automatic enhancement when rendering people’s faces. Faces also can be identified and stored in real time, allowing for potential alerts when needed. Naturally, Jenne will provide its reseller customers training, configuration tools and plenty of tech help. VARs also have access to a “working lab” if they want some hands-on time to understand the product and help evaluate it for customers.

There’s no doubt physical security solutions are going to be more popular among customers as their data center infrastructures grow, thanks to cloud computing and the bring-your-own-device phenomenon. Now’s the time for resellers to act.
