Kris Blackmon Joins JS Group as Chief Channel Officer
But it's only a partial goodbye for the Channel Futures team.

Channel Partners/Channel Futures is saying goodbye to a key member of its team. Kris Blackmon, senior editor and content director for the MSP 501 program for the past three years, is leaving Informa Tech, our parent company, to join JS Group as chief channel officer.
JS Group is a channel consultancy led by CEO Janet Schijns, former channel leader at Verizon and Office Depot. Our team works closely with the JS Group, tapping the firm’s expertise on various projects, including our events — the Channel Partners Conference & Expo, Channel Partners Evolution and the recently concluded Channel Partners Virtual.
Kris Blackmon
Blackmon has been instrumental in elevating the MSP 501 into what it is today. Growing from a list of the top managed service providers in the world, the program now includes a popular annual celebration at our fall channel event and a 501er social media community that brings these MSPs together to engage in peer-to-peer conversations that can improve their businesses.
Furthermore, Blackmon headed up the Allies of the Channel Council, founded earlier this year in response to racial injustice protests around the country. The Council includes leaders dedicated to supporting diversity and inclusion in the channel. She will continue to lead that group on a volunteer basis.
“We are thrilled that Kris is going to JS Group, as we continue to partner closely with them,” said Kelly Danziger, general manager and VP of channel at Informa Tech. “The fact that she’s staying on as part of our 501er Community Group and our Allyship Program means we will be able to continue to collaborate with her going forward.”
Blackmon’s last day with Channel Partners/Channel Futures is Friday, Sept. 18.
