Here are seven managed services blogs and MSP news tips the MSPmentor team didn’t have a chance to write for the week ending Nov. 25, 2011.7. Global Growth: LogMeIn has opened an office in India. The company has also expanded operations in Tokyo, Japan, and Sydney, Australia. The company has emerged as one of the leading software tool providers in the managed services market, according to preliminary data from our fifth-annual MSPmentor 100 survey, which closes Dec. 23, 2011.
6. Kaseya’s Balancing Act: There’s lots of chatter over in the Kaseya community, where some MSPs are calling upon the company to fix and enhance existing software modules before introducing new modules.
5. Apple-related Managed Services: Centerbeam is set to launch a hosted endpoint security and 24/7 helpdesk solution for Apple products (Mac, iPhone, iPad). It sounds like the managed service will debut within days.
4. Plugging In: Storage Guardian is the latest backup company to integrate into ConnectWise’s PSA platform.
3. Cloud Relationship: Drobo, which makes data storage products, has partnered with Pogoplug to develop a personal cloud solution for anytime, anywhere access to files. Drobo says customers will have access to free cloud storage, remote file access and digital media streaming using Pogoplug Cloud, a new service.
2. Worth Noting: Best Buy’s Geek Squad is offering one-year 24×7 support for $99 per new device purchase. The managed service agreement covers PC, Mac or tablet devices. The Geek Squad services include in store, online, phone and chat. The one-year contract is pretty rudimentary, though, covering only basic needs like password resets and virus removal.
