Jeffrey Pearl, Vice President of Channel Acceleration at BroadSoft.
Pearl: My first professional job out of college was for First Phone of New England, communications consultant, banging on doors and selling LD (long distance service). However my first real job was at age 15; I worked at the Yum Yum Shop Bakery, cleaning up after school, then was promoted to a baker and had to get up at 4:00AM to get into work, to make the baked goods.
The VAR Guy says: Wow, it sounds like you got your first taste of the working world from a very early age! At least you got to sample some of the baked goods, right?
Pearl: Convertible Rolls-Royce or the Batmobile.
The VAR Guy says: The Batmobile is the ultimate dream car. If only Hertz had one available …
Pearl: Aruba, at the new Ritz Carlton, I highly recommend it!
The VAR Guy says: We bet Aruba would be pretty great right now, especially with all the harsh winter weather we’ve been getting.
Pearl: Shakleton's Way: Leadership Lessons from the great Antarctic explorer.
The VAR Guy says: Sir Ernest Shackleton is credited with saving twenty-seven men who were stranded with him during an expedition in the Antarctic, so it's a good bet he knew a thing or two about how to foster teamwork.
Pearl: A convertible BMW.
The VAR Guy says: Nicely done! We say if you’re gonna splurge, go big or go home.
Pearl: "Vikings" on The History Channel.
The VAR Guy says: Not to be confused with other fantasy series like "Game of Thrones," "Vikings" is a History Channel original show about Ragnar, a Viking rumored to be the son of the Norse god Odin, and his various conquests.
Pearl: I wanted to be a Baker.
The VAR Guy says: For a while it sounds like you were able to live that dream! The VAR Guy could never cut it as a baker because we would eat all of our products before they got a chance to be sold.
Pearl: "Braveheart" for the courage and rallying of the troops.
The VAR Guy says: Definitely one of the best battle scenes in any movie, and if that speech doesn’t give you chills, we don’t know what will.
