Arman: I was the local milkman when I was 14.
The VAR Guy says: That's a pretty cool first job, and something you definitely don't hear about every day. Do they even still have milkmen these days?
Arman: Aston Martin v12 Vantage
The VAR Guy says: This super-sleek sports car was featured prominently in 2002's Die Another Day, which featured Pierce Brosnan as the titular James Bond. Although we doubt the consumer version features any awesome gadgets like the one Bond drove in the film, unless you're willing to pay extra.
Arman: Hiking in the Cascade Mountains
The VAR Guy says: Not to be confused with Cascade Mountain in New York, the Cascade Mountain range extends from British Columbia through Washington state, Oregon and Northern California, the most famous of which is the 14,411 foot tall Mount Rainier in Washington.
Arman: "Collapse" by Jared Diamond
The VAR Guy says: "Collapse" is the sequel to Jared Diamond's acclaimed book "Guns, Germs and Steel" and focuses on the different factors that have led to the collapse of civilizations over time, including political factors, disease and rapid population change.
Arman: I bought a Gregory Baltoro 75 liter backpack.
The VAR Guy says: This seems like a pretty practical splurge item, especially considering your hobby of hiking!
Arman: House of Cards on Netflix.
The VAR Guy says: This might be the most popular pick for top TV show in Meet the Chiefs history. Sadly, The VAR Guy still hasn't watched the series himself, but with so many positive reviews we don't know what we're waiting for!
Arman: I wanted to be a Military test pilot
The VAR Guy says: That would have been an incredibly exciting (and dangerous) job! We bet you looked up to other famous test pilots like Chuck Yeager, who became the first person to fly faster than the speed of sound after he famously flew the Bell X-1 aircraft in 1947.
Arman: Tim’s Vermeer. Vermeer was the greatest painter that ever lived. This is a wonderful story of how technology and extreme ingenuity enabled a complete novice to paint almost exactly like Vermeer.
The VAR Guy says: This 2013 documentary was actually produced by acclaimed Las Vegas performers Penn and Teller, and chronicles inventor Tim Jenison's attempts to understand the painting techniques utilized by Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer.
