Gibson: I am lucky enough to drive it, a 1999 customized TD5 Land Rover Defender.
The VAR Guy says: This looks like the kind of rugged 4×4 you would need for driving in the back country and splashing through big mud puddles. Very cool.
Gibson: With the family, to Ibiza. On my own, I like to get out in the wilds and have taken various bushcraft and survival courses when I have time.
The VAR Guy says: "Man versus Nature" indeed! Now here's a way to completely disconnect from email and get back to basics. We like it.
Gibson: A good business book is, "Hope is Not a Strategy: The 6 Keys to Winning the Complex Sale," by Rick Page. My favorite fiction read is "American Psycho," by Brett Easton Ellis.
The VAR Guy says: Page's bestselling sales strategy book is renowned for its simple yet effective tips on identifying needs and closing any sale. "American Psycho," however, is NOT a book one should use to build their business prowess.
Gibson: Tickets to see the Scotland rugby team play Italy in Rome.
The VAR Guy says: Very cool! We hope your team won, since you traveled all that way to see them.
Gibson: "Better Call Saul" on Netflix and also "Dual Survival on Sky.
The VAR Guy says: We've seen "Better Call Saul," and it has our endorsement as an awesome show. And if "Dual Survival" is anything like "Man vs. Nature," it has our full attention.
Gibson: When I was young I either wanted to be in the RAF or a Lawyer. Unfortunately my eyesight let me down when it came to the RAF and I am arguably too impatient to succeed in the legal profession!
The VAR Guy says: Wow, the Royal Air Force sounds like it would have been a really cool job. But we're glad to have you in the channel, regardless of the circumstances that brought you here.
Gibson: "Gladiator," for the sheer spectacle, and "As Good As It Gets," to make me laugh.
The VAR Guy says: Sometimes after an intense movie like "Gladiator" you need a few laughs. We'd really love to see a gladiator movie starring Jack Nicholson, though.

In this week's Meet the Chiefs, we sat down with Mark Gibson, sales director for Bloxx, a U.K.-based web content filtering and security provider. Although not a channel chief in name, Gibson is responsible for managing Bloxx's worldwide channel partner program, and uses his knowledge of vertical markets to onboard new channel partners in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Prior to his appointment as sales director at Bloxx in 2013, Gibson held several sales and marketing director positions for companies in the U.K. including Capita, SAS and Memex.
