Michael Stoeger, Vice President of Global Channels at Alert Logic.
Stoeger: My first job was clearing rocks from a field in Wisconsin for $2/hour so they could plow. After that, I was slinging fries and mops at Burger King.
The VAR Guy says: Flipping burgers is definitely a step up from clearing rock. Plus we love BK onion rings!
Stoeger: A silver Porsche Carrera Cabriolet, which I am lucky enough to own.
The VAR Guy says: You own your dream car! Lucky man indeed!
Stoeger: Every year I go to Portland, Oregon, and a coastal town called Lincoln City to escape the Texas heat and visit family, plus fish for Ling Cod and Dungeness crab.
The VAR Guy says: That must make for some good eating! We've heard the Oregon coast is one of the most beautiful places in the country – although The VAR Guy has never had a chance to visit himself.
Stoeger: For business, I highly recommend the "Art of War." Personally, I like to read the "Grapes of Wrath."
The VAR Guy says: John Steinbeck is one of The VAR Guy's favorite authors. "Of Mice and Men" is our personal favorite.
Stoeger: I recently bought a camera for my daughter (one that that no eighth grader should own!) just so she would not have to check one out at school.
The VAR Guy says: Just think of all the beautiful pictures she will shoot with it! Money well spent.
Stoeger: “Better Call Saul.” I am a very straight-laced person, but I find the moral ambiguity of the characters in the show extremely engrossing.
The VAR Guy says: We love Saul Goodman! Bob Odenkirk is a tremendously talented actor, capable of being both lovable and despicable all at once.
Stoeger: Funnily enough, I wanted to be a senator!
The VAR Guy says: The senate would have been lucky to have you, but we're glad you became a channel chief instead.
Stoeger: "Goodfellas." After many viewings, I still find it fresh and entertaining—the gritty story, acting, structure, score, humor, terror and tension are all great.
The VAR Guy says: "Goodfellas" is a Martin Scorsese classic! Definitely one of the top gangster films of all time.
