Wayne Newton, Director Belkin Business Division, Americas.
Newton: I was a Logistics Analyst at 3M.
The VAR Guy says: Sounds fairly complex for a first job. But we're sure you were privy to plenty of free office supplies as a bonus though.
Newton: A Tesla Model X.
The VAR Guy says: A Tesla that the whole family can enjoy? Sign us up!
Newton: "The Walking Drum" and "Shantaram"
The VAR Guy says: Some very interesting choices here. "The Walking Drum" by Louis L'Amour is a period piece that takes place in 12th century Europe and the Middle East, while "Shantaram" is a 2003 novel by Gregory David Roberts about an Australian ban robber who escapes to live in Bombay, India.
Newton: Bonobos apparel
The VAR Guy says: Unlike the chimpanzee for which it's named, Bonobos is a swanky NY-based clothing store that isn't monkeying around about its menswear.
Newton: One? Whew! "Game of Thrones," "Downton Abbey," "House of Cards," "Homeland" – four-way tie ("Mad Men" is over or it would be five).
The VAR Guy says: It looks like we've got a real TV buff over here! All of these are great shows, by the way; we commend your television-watching choices.
Newton: I wanted to be a professional singer.
The VAR Guy says: You should try singing the next time you are onstage at a partner event! We bet that would get everyone's attention.
Newton: Panama City
The VAR Guy says: We hope you visited the Panama Canal while you were there! And no, we aren't referring to the aptly named Panama City, Florida – this here is the real deal.
Newton: "Braveheart" – an epic historical film filled with passion, action, romance and the ultimate in principled beliefs.
The VAR Guy says: Definitely one of the most popular picks for top movie among channel chiefs. If only they started wearing blue war paint to partner events …

This week in Meet the Chiefs we chatted with Wayne Newton, director of Belkin's American Business division. While he isn't a channel chief in the traditional sense, Newton manages all of the telecom solution provider's B2B businesses, including its government and education-focused verticals, indirect resellers, distributors and OEM partners for North and South America.
Prior to joining Belkin in 2013, Newton served as senior director of Sales for Cisco's Home Networking Business Unit, and has also worked at companies including D-Link, Imation and Digital River throughout his career.
