Merger and Acquisition Guidance: MSPExcellence, TCI Partner Up
June 2, 2011
More and more consultants are seeking to assist MSPs with mergers and acquisitions. The latest example: MSPExcellence, a business consulting firm, and Technology Capital Investors (TCI), which invests in MSPs and hosting firms, are teaming up to help MSPs maximize their success during and after the M&A process.
According to a prepared statement: The companies have identified the key performance metrics and success factors for sales and marketing efficiency and scalability that are important to investors, and will help MSPs to achieve them with a 5-step investment readiness program.
“My partner [Todd Hussy] and I see a trend taking shape,” said Partner and Co-Founder of MSPExcellence Dave Zwicker. “There seems to be an exiting phase where MSPs put an emphasis on reducing the cost of services and looking at its impact on the gross margin. In this new phase, MSPs are looking at the cost of customer acquisition and how that impacts their gross margin.”
Zwicker says he expects TCI to continue doing what they do best — help MSPs make the best use of their capital for business growth. MSPExcellence wants to combine that TCI strategy with the MSPExcellence Playbook — a resource guide for how MSPs should manage their business.
In some ways, the MSPExcellence-TCI relationship sounds similar to activities over at Cogent Growth Partners — which provides buy-side guidance to MSPs during and after the M&A process.
