Microsoft (MSFT) has scored another big customer win, partnering with insurance provider MetLife Inc. for the deployment of its cloud-based productivity suite Office 365 to more than 64,000 MetLife employees.

MetLife said it plans to reinvest cost savings into customer-centric, mission-critical technologies.

MetLife Senior Vice President and CTO Jim O’Donnell said in a prepared statement that company expansion requires MetLife to think differently about technology while also keeping customers in mind.

“As a whole, the insurance industry can be challenging for consumers to navigate, so getting all of our global employees onto one standardized platform helps us collaborate more effectively and efficiently,” he said. “In turn, we can ensure the customer experience is as smooth and consistent as possible.”

MetLife expects the Office 365 deployment to be completed by November 2013.

Microsoft recently added Johnson Controls, a diversified global provider of technology and industrial products, to its customer list.
