The new funds brings the total capital raised to $20 million. So what new OpenStack developments are on the way?

According to the company, investment proceeds will be used to enhance Mirantis' roadmap for the company's management and deployment tool for OpenStack clouds called Fuel. Additionally, Mirantis will use the capital to drive "integration with technology and products from Mirantis’ partners."

"The investment by Ericsson, Red Hat, and SAP Ventures is about more than capital," said Mirantis President and CEO Adrian Ionel in his prepared remarks. "It’s about the integration of Mirantis’ Fuel technology and services with key players in IT."

Red Hat CTO and Vice President of Worldwide Engineering said, "Our investment in Mirantis reflects our commitment to customer success and customer choice, and the on-going collaboration between Red Hat and Mirantis will help accelerate the adoption of OpenStack in the enterprise."

Mirantis also announced a major update to Fuel, including a new version that offers a visual, intuitive interface as a single control plane for OpenStack clusters, and provides automated hardware discovery and network verification. In addition, the update supports Grizzly OpenStack release and is available for download today from the Mirantis website.

Mirantis offers software and services for customers to deploy and run production-grade OpenStack clouds.

Mirantis previously raised $10 million in December 2012 from Dell (DELL) Ventures, Intel (INTC) Capital, and WestSummit Capital.
