BC Networks, a San Jose, California-based managed service provider (MSP), finished 267 on this year’s MSPmentor 501 Global Edition. So just what has made this MSP successful smack in the middle of Silicon Valley?

CEO David Brewer told MSPmentor that the company’s approach has been to put the customer first. Here are the details.

BC Networks has been on a steady growth path over the past five years, Brewer said. He noted there have been obstacles along the way, but through it all, his business has emerged stronger than ever before.

“Over the last five years, we have been on a steady growth path as we have continued to expand, improve and mature our practice,” Brewer told MSPmentor.

A long and winding road
BC Networks was established 25 years ago, long before cloud and hosted services became available. Brewer said his company has adapted to new technologies, which has helped it connect with myriad customers. Today the company relies on partnerships with key vendors Cisco Systems (CSCO), Microsoft (MSFT) and others to ensure its customers receive world-class support.

BC Networks today provides numerous services and solutions, including:

  • Business continuity planning

  • Cloud support

  • Hosted solutions

  • IT consulting

  • Managed IT services

  • Security

  • Virtualization

And Brewer said he believes the future looks bright, thanks in part to his company’s approach to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

BC Networks takes a cohesive, streamlined approach
Many managed services are now available across the globe, including infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), software-as-a-service (SaaS) and even hardware-as-a-service (HaaS).

Brewer said he believes MSPs are often challenged by managing multiple services simultaneously, but his company has thrived because of its customer-first approach.

“Having a cohesive and streamlined approach to authentication, support, backup and administration is key,” Brewer said.

SMB cloud migrations are vital
BC Networks wants to help more SMBs leverage cloud services, Brewer said.

The cloud offers many benefits to SMBs, and BC Networks is focused on providing its customers with new and innovative ways to utilize it.

“We are excited to help SMB clients migrate to the cloud,” Brewer said. “These are very exciting times for even the smallest of companies to be able to take advantage of capabilities previously reserved for only large enterprises.”
